About Us
Kintyre PC Repair is currently run by me, Gavin Anderson. I've been doing a lot of repairs for friends and family, and had started getting recommended to other people for repairs. I decided to make this website as a lot of the problems people were having were relatively straight forward to fix so why not make a website where they can get easy to follow instructions for a lot of the tasks that other businesses would charge for. As well as making this site to help other people, it was also made to help me learn about building websites and broaden my understanding of computers.
I first took apart and then put back together my old computer when I was 12 years old and ever since then I have been learning more and more about computers. At the age of 15 I built my own computer; a tower with an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ processor, 2GB of RAM and ASUS ATi Radeon X1600 on an ASUS A8V-XE motherboard. This only further increased my knowledge and interest into how a computer goes together.
Along side all this stuff in my spare time, I also studied Standard Grade Computing Studies and obtained a 1 for it as well as being awarded an Rectors commendation for excelling in the subject. I then went on to study Higher Informations Systems, gaining an A and also being awarded the Richard Lee Memorial Prize for Information Systems at the 2008 Campbeltown Grammar School prize giving. I then continued Information Systems to Advanced Higher level and obtained a C.
By this point I had already got 3 unconditional offers from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen Universities to study a joint Honours degree of Computing Science and Physics or Mathematics. I ultimately decided on studying Physics at Glasgow University and have just completed my second year, and am now in the Honours course for Physics.
